Answered Prayers

There was a fire just down the road from Heidi’s and we were desperate to have it put out before the flames reached our home.

God answered quickly! While Tasha (in town) and Bailey (Tasha’s cat) were evacuated, Dior and Paul stayed around in case they had to get all the animals out. The amazing fire responders got the fire under control quickly, of course with help from the Lord.

I asked the Lord for clear direction on something He has asked me to do. 

Feeling my great need, He placed these words in my mind, “I can do amazing and great things out of nothing.” He also spoke to me through scripture, “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jer. 32:27) Praise the Lord! All things are possible with God.

I asked the Lord to allow mom to pass away in her sleep without pain.

She died peacefully in her sleep without any prolonged suffering. And in a second answer to prayer I was able to view her graveside service via live stream, which my niece unexpectedly set up the night before. “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness!” (Lam. 3:22-23)

I prayed last night for the Lord to give me a deeper knowledge of Him. 

As I was reading in the book Steps to Christ, p. 88, I found these words in answer to my prayer: “If you would become acquainted with the Saviour, study the Holy Scriptures. Fill the whole heart with the words of God. They are the living water, quenching your burning thirst. They are the living bread from heaven. … ‘The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life’ (John 6:53, 63). Our bodies are built up from what we eat and drink; and as in the natural economy, so in the spiritual economy: it is what we meditate upon that will give tone and strength to our spiritual nature.” What an amazing answer to the hunger of my soul!
